Senator Kellie Warren was appointed to the Sentencing Commission on January 24th, 2025. Senator Warren graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in Kansas, and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, and a J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.  She has been an attorney for more than thirty years.

Senator Warren has served in the Kansas legislature from Johnson County, first in the House from 2019-2020, and in the Senate since 2021.  Her entire service she has been a member of the Judiciary Committee, and has chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee since 2021, where she has championed law and order issues, worked on anti-human trafficking and anti-illicit fentanyl use and distribution legislation, as well as legislation important to law enforcement and prosecutors.
